Welcome to the NEW Home of the Grudge Bearers.

The Original Grudge Bearers started at www.delving.com under the command of Thergrim.  The first game the guild launched into was Everquest (the first) during the early Beta.   From there the guild grew very rapidly and was a prominent guild on the server Fenin Ro.   Since then the guild has continued to shuffle members through the tavern doors and what members they have been!
Now it is time for the Guild to move on.   The Delving will be closing its doors soon and the clan has packed up and moved to a new dwelling here amongst others of their kind.

THE GRUDGE BEARERS:

The Grudge Bearers are the keepers of the Great Book of Grudges.  Since ancient days the Dwarfs have recorded in this book every slight and each wrong done to them by other races.  The account is said to even include wrongs done to the Dwarfs by the gods themselves and by the forces of nature, the mountains, weather, rivers, and so on.  Dwarfs are very, very good at bearing grudges.

The Dwarf language has no word for forgiveness, but many subtle variations on revenge, recompense, and retribution.  Each Dwarf Clan has its own list of reckonings, a detailed account of all the grudges it holds against its foes and neighbors.

The biggest and most important of these records is Dammaz Kron, The Great Book of Grudges.  This book records all the big racial grudges, deeds of treachery, broken promises, lies and all the causes ever given for the Dwarf race to resent anything.  It is a very thick book, and is kept up to date by the High King himself.  Only he has the right to cross out an entry once proper retribution has been made, which is hardly ever.   Even grudges which have been crossed out can still be read and are never forgotten but fondly recalled together with the story of how vengeance was finally exacted.

Over the centuries the book has soaked up all the resentment and bitter feelings of the Dwarf race.  Magic has grown into its pages, the years have given its vellum leaves authority and power.  When the Grudge Bearers go to battle the Great Book of Grudges goes with them.  The book is consulted daily lest the opportunity to right some ancient wrong be missed.  Of course, war will always bring new grudges to carefully describe.  The most serious grudges, the great racial grudges of the Dwarfs, are written in blood and learned by heart by every Dwarf.

This guild is a militaristic, regimented troop of Dwarf's of any class.  Who are loyal to the Dwarven nobles and march to the wars of the dwarf nation.  We are charged with the duty of keeping, remembering and, most of all, exacting vengeance for this great list of grudges.

Now our forces have joined with several other Guilds to form the Alliance "Barazundi" or in the common tongue, The Oath Guard.  The other guilds are; Hammers of Grungni originally known as the Hammer of Brell, the Kingmakers, Clan Ironbeard, and Grudge.  Not a more stalwart group of dwarves can be found on the Pheonix Thrown!
